This IBIENE’s exclusive sit down with Winifred is a tell-it-all. Keep scrolling for more.

IBIENE: What is the “unusual” behind the Winnie?

Winifred: The “Unusual” behind Winnie is the dogged risk taking aspect of my life. I’m not saying the regular small leaps we take occasionally to switch paths, I’m talking about large intuitive blindness/boldness. I’ve been told that it is one of my most unique qualities and I absolutely agree. It’s the ability to walk forward where several people have feared to thread and I create unique success. That’s basically my life.

IBIENE: What inspired you to pursue your current career, and what motivates you to keep going?

Winifred: I’m a creative to the core. Reflected in my school work, my lifestyle, I have always been passionate about the entire creative space, poetry, dance, music, movies, fashion, everything. So it was a natural transition for me when the right time came.

IBIENE: What motivates you to keep going?

Winifred: Hmm, I can finally confirm that success is intoxicating. That’s what keeps me going. Success in terms iof impact, potentials of untold stories. I do mostly factual stories, true life. I get inspired by untold stories. I’ve heard incredible stories I get inspired to continue by people who are willing to let the world see/hear their deepest tales. I am most motivated by the recognition and relations the stories I tell are given.

IBIENE: What is the most significant challenge you have faced in your career, and what important lesson you have learned from it?

Winifred: My most significant challenge was understanding that my past knowledge had nothing to do with my present career choice. I’ve learned that transitioning means accepting that failure is possible, but still doing it. I’ve learned that in a new career learning happens at the funeral of your previous knowledge.

IBIENE: How would you define success?

Winifred: Success to everyone is subjective. But to me, success is the extent to which I am able to perform great services after discovering my purpose/passion.

IBIENE: What is the most important quality you look for in a friend, and why?

Winifred: It may sound cliche, but loyalty never goes out of fashion. Why? If a person be loyal to you, automatically, he/she must have checked every other characteristics that awards them the loyal factor. Loyalty can be likened to a complete sentence, that consists of different phrases to make a meaning. This is because I am a loyal friend, I deal with people with a high sense of integrity and commitment. It’s the most important bundle to me.

IBIENE: How do you handle mistakes?

Winifred: Very easy. Several unique attempts until result is great success! BUT… I can’t pretend that I dont pep talk myself, build the inner resilience to bounce back and not faint by the way side.

IBIENE: What is the most important thing you have learned about yourself?

Winifred: I am gentle by nature, never wanting to hurt people. The world made me feel like this was a weakness, navigating career pathways, leadership, the world tried to remould me to be all of those things you have to be to survive in business or career. Harsh, Loud, My way or the highway……. I  learnt that my kindness is not a weakness., I don’t have to become mean to get ahead. There’s a place for gentle giants like me. Love wins in the end. Meekness is not stupidity. I found strength in my quiet, gentle, soft spoken, somewhat introverted self.

IBIENE: If you had one paragraph to write to your 15-year old self, what would it look like?

Winifred:Be yourself. Its the quickest route to your purpose. It s in being yourself that you find yourself and grow into yourself. One step at a time, express your self and your life the way your innermost hear tells you.
